A life of abundance includes feeling fulfilled, empowered, and purposeful. Feeling out of sync in your life comes from your beliefs and from your subconscious (creating BLOCKS) and then they show up in your personality traits and in your habits—putting a BIGGER GAP between you and the ABUNDANCE you desire—reducing your energetic potency to attract more of what you want in your life.
If you feel like life is like a hamster wheel…and you can’t seem to break the cycle of mediocrity in your life, it may be that you haven’t thought what you’re putting out there. Sometimes the “nice” you do is really more of an obstacle you’re creating.
You’ll find that you fit into several of these categories, but do your best to choose which one represents you most right now in your life and explore how it’s serving you or NOT serving you:
1. COMFORT SEEKER:
This person avoids any kind of new way of thinking and doing simply because it’s unfamiliar and uncomfortable. They find false security and confidence in staying the status quo. This person fears failure most of all. They’ll stay in relationships, friendships, and in an undesirable job no matter how miserable they are because they’d rather stay with what’s familiar and comfortable. They won’t even risk taking a little bit of time to simply explore what else is available for them.
2. PEOPLE PLEASER:
The mom, sister, friend who puts everyone before herself. She says YES… because she doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feeling. She says YES…because she’s afraid of what people will think if she says otherwise. She says YES…even it means sacrificing her own needs.
3. POSITIVITY DETOUR-IST:
This is the person who avoids all things challenging and or “negative.” She goes directly to affirmations, visualizations, and reframes any situation immediately into a “positive” as a means to AVOID what’s uncomfortable and falsely believes that it’s helpful and believes she is doing the “right thing” and that it’s “the way” to be. She not only habitually practices this habit, she pushes it on to others as a way to be helpful.
4. SPIRITUALITY DETOUR-IST:
This person relies on her own spirituality or a spiritual practice as a means to “heal” pains from the past. In actuality they’ve not moved through the struggle with growth, they’ve found something that distracts them from it.
5. BALANCE BELIEVER:
This person talks a good game but struggles most of all because they seek what DOES NOT EXIST—LIFE BALANCE. They may try new things but it ends up being short-term…because life happens. So they’ll quit personal development programs, coaches, and put down that self-help book to deal with “what’s out of balance.” They wait for tomorrow or believe the future will be a better time—when things “settle down”—and tomorrow NEVER comes.
